Information on where to find the freshest produce in Kuala Lumpur as well as details of KL's flea markets, wet markets and night markets...

Kuala Lumpur is home to an abundance of markets - ranging from the permanent "wet markets" selling fish and fresh foods, to bazaars and flea-markets that operate only one day a week. These are becoming more and more popular across the city.
As in any crowded market anywhere in the world, shoppers should be on the alert for pickpockets.
General Markets
Bazaar Baru Chow Kit Market: This is Kuala Lumpur's largest indoor "wet" market - a huge warren of alleyways with stalls selling anything and everything edible, including fish, meat, fruits and vegetables. A few stalls also sell clothes, shoes and fabrics.

: 484 Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur

Central Market: The market opened in 1888. The present Art Deco building was built in 1928. This used to be the city's main "wet market", but now sells Malaysian handicrafts such as kebaya (the traditional blouse worn with a sarung), songket (brocade), batik and souvenirs. Contemporary local arts are exhibited in The Annexe Gallery.
