Batu Rakit Beach Terengganu, It is 30km
north from Kuala Terengganu. Pantai Batu Rakit is on the unspoiled
shores dotted with colourful fishing boat and surrounded by lush forest.
There are fishing villages adjoining to the beach, catch the coming
home fishing boats in every good weather evening for fresh fish or look
for stalls by the road selling Terengganu famous keropok lekor,
otak-otak and Satar. In some sunny days, the famous Pulau Redang and
former Vietnamese refuge island, Pulau Bidong are visible from the
beach.
Try
battered flour seafoods tempura at the Batu Rakit beach stalls, the
stall serves varieties tempura such as fishes, crabs, squids, prawns,
sting rays, bananas, keropok etc. Batu Rakit is also famous for fried
kue tiau with squid and chicken. Try the stall opposite the mosque along
the main road. It is a great beach with rustic fishing village
ambience. Ordinary-looking beach but the seafood is quite a steal!
How To Get Here
Batu Rakit is a small town within the District of Kuala Terengganu, some 15 kilometres to the north of the state capital. A scenic and leisurely drive should take 15-20 minutes from Kuala Terengganu.By Bus
Take a local bus to Batu Rakit from Kuala Terengganu. In general, there is no specific spot where one should stop. Any of the spot on the beach preferred, then that’s the suitable place to stop.
